About the Founder

Bill Kwiatkowski was Electrical Supervisor at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida for 15 years. D uring his time there, he collected medical equipment to be shipped to a Honduran Hospital and clinics. For many years, Bill travelled to Honduras and other countries on short term mission trips, preaching the love of God and distributing clothing and toys to thousands of Honduran children. In February of 1994, Bill left his supervisory position in Sarasota, sold everything he owned and left to teach of God's love, compassion and mercy to the street children of Honduras. Bill believes his calling is to bring hope for tomorrow to children who have no hope today. To further that end, Bill founded Children of the Light. Children of the Light is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. It's goal is to raise funds to help the impoverished street children of Cental America with a focus on those children living in Honduras. The board of directors consists of people from all walks of life who share a common bond: a love of children and a desire to help. In addition to Mr. Kwiatkowski's work with Children of the Light, he has also voluntereed with International Children Care and has served as an elder in two different churches in Bradenton, Florida.
