I want to take this time to give an update to all the people that pray and support us with the Lord’s work. Christmas and New Year’s was such a blessing. We thought at first the children were not going to have a very good Christmas, but as usual, the Lord always comes thru. The children had a new set of clothes and a new pair of shoes. Some Honduran congressmen came just before Christmas and gave us money to buy pig legs, which is traditional here for Christmas. Mary and I cooked the pork and to our surprise, it was EXCELENT! The boys really loved it.
We are working on a new web site that will be ready, Lord willing in May. It will have a lot of new information and frequent updates. You will be able to see the kid’s pictures and learn more about each of them as they grow.
We are looking for sponsors for the children that will help with their daily expenses and operations costs. The operational costs include food, meds, everyday needs they have, to pay the employees, and utilities. There may be additional expenses, however, no administrative fees. Every dollar goes into the operating expenses. We are looking for 200 sponsors that would give at least $30.00 monthly. We also need at least 100 sponsors that can give $50.00 monthly.
We have a termite problem in the homes that the children are living. To replace one roof the cost would be $6,000 which includes labor and material. We have had to take out the doors and frames that are in the homes. They were totally eaten away. This project can only be done during April, May and June. These are the dry months and the rains will not affect the work, nor cause damage to the inside of the homes. Please pray about this need.
We hear from many missionaries and Christians that this is the Year of the Harvest. We want to pray for you that this year all of you will receive your harvest and please pray and believe with us that “Children of the Light” will receive the harvest, also.
